21 Companies That Celebrate Diversity

If diversity and inclusion at work is important to you, you’re not alone. One study found that 47% of Millennials think that it’s important to find a diverse and inclusive workplace, and Generation Z will enter the workforce as the country’s most racially and ethnically diverse generation yet.

So how do you know if a company really walks the walk when it comes to diversity? It takes research (sorry!). The company website and job posting are great places to start. Does the site have a dedicated diversity and inclusion (D&I) section? Does the job post use inclusive language?

But then you’ll need to dig deeper. For example, to learn about a company’s policies around LGBTQ employees, see how it ranks on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation's Equality Index. Reach out to people in your network who work there and ask whether the company’s employee resource groups create meaningful space for underrepresented communities. Follow their social media channels to see if they’re posting about events and activities that align with inclusion.

And if you’re starting to get research fatigue, don’t quit now. We’ve compiled this list of 20 companies that prioritize diversity and inclusion. Even better? They’re all hiring.
